What makes Hordit special?
We don't know any other online service where you can save all of your valuable items in one place. You don't need a separate bookmarking site, photo site, and RSS feed reader. And we don't know of any service that allows you to also save documents, PDFs, notes, and more. And don't get us started on the Research Assistant, Groups, and other advanced functions...
Do I need to share my items?
Nope. What you share is up to you.
How much storage space do I get?
Unlimited. Seriously.
How much does it cost?
After the 90-day free trial, a subscription to Hordit is $4/month or $40/year.
Can people see what I store?
Not unless you want them to. You control the privacy settings for each item.
What do you mean, "find more like it"?
If you're researching a subject, you don't need to do it alone. Tap into the expertise of other Hordit members. By tapping into like-minded people, you'll have access to far more items and far more valuable information than if you go it alone.
Who uses Hordit?
Our early adopters, not surprisingly, have been hoarders. Those people who need to gather a lot of information, organize it, and use it. Researchers. People writing books or thesis papers. But more and more people are using it every day for all kinds of uses. Keeping wine reviews in one place. Gathering recipes. Sharing RSS feeds. Accessing items on the road. It's also a great tool for work groups.
What do you mean I can save notes on the fly?
Just that. Click the note button and start typing. It's a great way to save a thought, jot down a reminder, or make a to-do list for later.
How secure is this?
Very. Our servers are very secure. Your information on those servers is very secure. You control the privacy setting for each of your items.
Who owns the items I save?
Not us, if that's what you're asking. You own it. Or the copyright holder owns it. Either way, it's got nothing to do with us.
What is the "Daily Read"?
Think of it as your daily hub. This is where you can keep a list of sites you want to visit daily. If you like keeping track of blogs and other sites via RSS, you can do so here. What's more, you can read your RSS feeds and conveniently store the posts you find valuable right from the Daily Read. You decide which of your Daily Read items, if any, are visible to other members.
What is the "Look Later"?
You don't always have time to stop and read an article. This is a convenient way to store links to items you want to explore at a later time.
What does the "Research Assistant" do?
Say you want to read up on a specific topic but don't want to search through all your RSS feeds. Just tell your Research Assistant what topic you're interested in. You'll get the articles you want, without having to do all the digging yourself.
Why should I provide my interests in my profile?
This allows members with similar interests to find and connect with each other. These connections allow members to tap into a wealth of additional items.
